Qualification Awarded

Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a Diploma in Registered Nursing and are eligible for registration with the NMCZ

This program blends theory, clinical practice, and community-based learning, preparing graduates to meet the healthcare needs of individuals, families, and communities in Zambia and beyond.

Our approach ensures that students not only master nursing techniques but also develop critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills — qualities that define an outstanding nurse.

Program Objectives

By the end of this program, students will be able to:

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care.

  • Apply scientific knowledge in clinical decision-making.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and ethical practice.

  • Promote health, prevent illness, and assist in rehabilitation.

  • Work effectively within healthcare teams and community settings.

Duration of Study

The Diploma in Nursing program runs for 3 years (full-time).
It includes:

  • Classroom instruction in foundational and advanced nursing concepts.

  • Practical training in hospitals and health centers.

  • Community health exposure and supervised clinical placements. 

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the minimum entry qualifications set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ) and the Ministry of Health.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits or better in:

    • English Language

    • Mathematics

    • Biology (or Science)

    • And any other two subjects.

  • Must be 16 years or older at the time of application.

Graduates of this program can work as:

  • Registered Nurses in public and private hospitals

  • Community Health Nurses

  • Clinic or Health Center Practitioners

  • Nursing Educators or Supervisors (with experience)
